C. Lloyd Mahaffey, a seasoned Chief Executive Officer, technology market sector executive, Sarbanes-Oxley qualified board director, pilot, sailor, fly fisherman, inventor, fundraiser and author, has successfully completed more than $1.2 billion USD in public market and more than $430M USD in venture-backed private equity transactions.

 

His career includes a Managing Partner role with Redleaf Ventures, a $300M Silicon Valley based venture capital firm, whose major investments included RedSiren and Lightningcast. Prior to joining Redleaf, he served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at VeriFone; the global payment company,where he was responsible for its digital payment, Internet initiatives, and strategic investments in CyberCash, WebTV, and VeriSign. He also led the team that negotiated VeriFone’s $1.2 billion acquisition by Hewlett Packard.

 

Mr. Mahaffey honed his product development, marketing and business development acumen as a key executive during the formative years of Apple Computer. While at Apple, he participated in the launch of the Macintosh, was responsible for the development of Apple’s highly regarded US Education Group and Federal Systems Group business segments worldwide. During his tenure, he grew the company’s Education business unit from $300 million to $1.3 billion.

 

A member of the prestigious St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, Mr. Mahaffey received a B.A. with Honors from The Citadel and attended Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business Technology Executive Program.

Karen Scott is a seasoned healthcare and technology strategic consultant and program director with over 22 years of proven expertise in developing strategy, detailed planning and execution. A strong leader and change agent who is skilled in all phases of program governance and leading clinical and technical teams, forming highly-effective teams, client-focused, fiscally-savvy, resource utilization, and effective communication. She has a reputation for integrity, dedication and building strong relationships.

 

Her career in healthcare information technology and project management began at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, where she was able to establish a project management office and prepare the organization for the Y2K project. She subsequently consulted for healthcare systems across the United States.  Some of the healthcare systems she has assisted are Bon Secours (6 hospitals, Epic), North Florida/South Atlantic Division of HCA (22 hospitals, Meditech), Summa Health (2 hospitals, Cerner), and St. Luke’s Health System (8 hospitals, Epic.)  Most recently, Karen directed and completed the one of the largest Epic electronic health record big-bang implementations at 8-hospitals, 150+ clinics on-time and on-budget.

 

Karen has managed strategic program initiatives totaling over $2B. Her strengths include strategic planning initiatives, selecting electronic health record and technical solutions, and managing other complex healthcare I.T. projects including Meaningful Use, ICD-10, Telemedicine, data center moves, network infrastructure upgrades, medical device integration, data migration, and data analytics and reporting.

 

Prior to Windancer, Karen was the Chief Executive Officer of Healthcare Project Management Partners, (HPMP) LLC, focusing on healthcare programs and large-scale projects. She holds a masters degree in business administration, is a certified project management professional, certified professional in health information management systems, and photographer, and enjoys spending downtime walking the shore on a small island off of the coast of North Florida.

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Scott Bateman is currently the Chief Operating Officer for Windancer Technologies where he, along with the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, formed Windancer in early 2017. Scott has previously held the positions of Chief Executive Officer, President - Chief Operating Officer, Board Chairman and Enterprise Program Director.

 

At Windancer Technologies, Scott leads a team that encompasses Healthcare IT and EMR Solutions Development, Program Management, Mergers and Acquisitions, providing organizational business development planning, EHR advisory and program management strategy, and coordination between personnel, structure, and the firm's strategic plan. He oversees the company's daily operations providing leadership and team oversight.

 

Prior to joining Windancer, Scott was President and Chief Operations Officer of Healthcare Project Management Partners (HPMP), where his main responsibilities comprised daily business operations, finance, business development, and marketing services.

Susan Romine has spent her entire professional career in Healthcare and Healthcare IT Sales, Consulting Services, Staff Augmentation and Process Management.  Her wealth of experience in the healthcare vertical enables her to effectively understand trends and challenges in healthcare IT in real time and act accordingly. From her recruitment of Advisory Services and C-Suite Executives to implementation and go live resources and everything in between, Susan has become known in the Healthcare IT and Technology recruitment space for matching opportunities with the most qualified and exceptional candidates.  Susan has been very successful in developing a large network of healthcare IT candidates by promoting their acquired skills and experience and coaching them towards the next step in their careers by focusing their aim. Specializing in all EHR vendors and applications, Susan thrives in being part of a team that builds relationships and manages candidates and clients with a common goal of improving patient quality of care.

 

Whether it’s recruiting a CIO or numerous go-live support resources for a technology project, Susan is tenacious and excited about creating a genuine personal impact on real lives. She has excelled by developing strong relationships with candidates and clients and finding those one-offs or hard to find candidates that other recruiters can’t or won’t.

 

After a decade of sales in healthcare and dental practices, Susan began a career in Healthcare IT recruitment capitalizing on her command of the business of healthcare and compliance with the ACA.  Since then, she has worked with leading healthcare IT staff augmentation and consultancy practices recruiting for roles at healthcare organizations like Cleveland Clinic, UCLA, Yale New Haven Hospital and Health Services, University of Miami Medical Center, Mt Sinai Carolinas Healthcare, Novant Health, Bon Secours, UVA and many others.

 

Immediately prior to joining Windancer, Susan was a Sr. Recruiter with a leading Epic only consulting firm and prior to that role she acquired experience in the recruitment of all vendors and software applications relative to healthcare IT as well as Big Data and Analytics roles.  Susan is acutely aware that all Healthcare and Technology Recruiters are fishing from the same ocean of consultants, therefore, she strives to deliver exceptional experiences for candidates and clients by creating high quality connections and providing service that exceeds expectations and the recruiting norms.

 

Excited to add another dimension to her recruiting experience and network of professionals, Susan joined the crew of Windancer to expand her knowledge about the next waves of innovation and topics challenging healthcare leadership today such as cybersecurity and maximization of investments in technology.

 

Susan is a native North Carolinian unabashedly in love with her husband, two daughters and 3-year-old Boxer “puppy” named Willie Nelson (not necessarily in that order). Susan is currently indulging an obsession with books on Biblical Theology and American History and hopes to become a published author one day.
